The Exeter University Amnesty Society works on behalf of and in conjunction with Amnesty UK, to stop and prevent human rights abuses wherever they occur. Our work is extremely varied, ranging from campaigns on human rights issues, such as the continuing refusal of the Chinese Government to investigate the Tiananmen Square massacres of June 1989, to fundraising events, such as fetes or Amnesty themed club nights. We also publish our own magazine and give members the opportunity to take part in nationwide Amnesty events such as the recent Arms Trade Treaty Conference hosted by the Foreign Office.
